Privacy Policy

Word Pizza is a free daily word puzzle game. We respect your privacy and collect only the minimum data needed to run the game.

What We Collect

• Player ID — A random identifier stored on your device. Not linked to your real identity.
• Alias — An optional display name you choose for the leaderboard.
• Game scores — Your daily scores, completion time, and words played, used for the leaderboard and statistics.
• Email address — Only if you opt in to daily reminders. Used solely to send you puzzle reminders.
• Push notification token — Only if you enable push notifications. Used solely to send daily puzzle reminders.
• IP address — Temporarily processed for spam mitigation on the leaderboard. Stored only as a one-way hash, not in raw form.
• Basic analytics — Page visits, game events (start, complete, share), and feature usage. No personal information is included.

What We Don't Collect

• No real names, phone numbers, or physical addresses
• No payment information (the game is free with no in-app purchases)
• No location data
• No contacts or photos
• No advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Cloudflare — Hosting and content delivery
• Resend — Email delivery (only if you subscribe to reminders)
• Reddit Pixel & Meta Pixel — Anonymous conversion tracking for ads. These services may set cookies. You can block them with any ad blocker without affecting gameplay.

Data Storage

Game data is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. Your game state and preferences are also stored locally on your device via localStorage. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Pizza Parties

If you join or create a Pizza Party, your alias and daily scores are visible to other party members. Chat messages in parties are visible to all party members. You can leave a party at any time.

Children's Privacy

Word Pizza does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The game does not require an account or any personal information to play.

Data Deletion

To delete your data, email privacy.wordpizza@gmail.com with your player ID (found in Settings). We will delete your scores, alias, and any associated data within 30 days. You can also clear your local data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for wordpizza.com.

Email Unsubscribe

Every reminder email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe from Settings in the game.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
